The Sri Lanka Broadcasting
Corporation organised a ceremony to felicitate Ven. Kotugoda
Dhammavasa Nayaka Thera in recognition of his services to
the Buddhasasana for the last six decades, recently. Here,
Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella,
who was the chief guest, presenting Ven. Kotugoda Dhammavasa
Thera with two CDs containing a series of dhammadesana
delivered over the radio by the thera and a special memento
to mark the occasion. SLBC chairman Hudson Samarasinghe was

Construction work on the Residencies,
the Jana Sevana Flats at Kirulapana, Kavirathna Place,
commenced yesterday with the participation of Constructions,
Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister
Wimal Weerawansa. The project will build 28 houses in seven
flats for middle class families. Here, Minister Weerawansa
together with invitees, including Malaysian Ambassdor Asmi
Renudeen laying the foundation stone. |

Department of Clinical Medicine
constructed with the funds allocated from the University of
Colombo will be opened today at 10.00 am by Health Minister
Maithreepla Sirisena. Higher Education Minister S. B.
Dissanayake will open the Auditorium of the Department. The
new five storied building consists of four case discussion
rooms, four rooms allocated for clinical medicine exams, a
library, a computer room, a data base room, study areas as
well as a fully-fledged auditorium which can cater to 225. |
