Saudi Arabian amnesty period extended

The amnesty period for over stayers in Saudi Arabia was again extended up to November 4 by the Saudi Arabian Government, Foreign Employment Minister Dilan Perera said.

Earlier, the amnesty period was to end today.

Illicit brew dealer fined

Dambulla District Judge and Magistrate Sanjeewa Ramyasiri imposed a fine of Rs 73,000 on a person convicted for transporting 25 bottles of illicit brew on a motorcycle. The accused is a resident of Dambulla.
