Drug dealers are invading tuition classes to induce innocent students
to take to drugs, Central Provincial Council Deputy Chairman W.M.
Yasamana said.
"Parents have lodged complaints in this regard. It is a threat to our
younger generation. We should take prompt action to combat this
situation," he said at the District Co-ordination Committee meeting at
the Matale District Secretariat.
He said tuition classes are functioning in every town in the
district. "No attention is paid to their management. As a result,
anti-social activities are creeping into these tuition classes. Drug
dealers are exploiting this to lure innocent youths. All tuition classes
must be checked by the authorities regularly. A proper method should
also be implemented in respect of tuition classes. Otherwise, our future
generation will go astray," the Deputy Chairman said. |
