Forty companies at Male hospitality show

Male Tuesday: The fifth edition of the Hotel Asia Exhibition and Culinary Challenge organized by Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services (Pvt) Ltd will begin today 10 a.m. onwards at Dharubaaruge Exhibition Hall, Male, Maldives.

The event is the biggest ever gathering of Hospitality Industry professionals in Maldives and will attract all levels of decision makers from the industry from all over the world. Director of Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS), Imran Hassan said that over 40 companies from Sri Lanka too will participate.

These include International Food Stuff Company, Nestle, Kelani Cables, Copyline International, Wijaya Products, Lankaloha Hardware, Development Interplan Ceylon, Kemin Exports, Celcius Solutions, Unilever Food Solutions, Lanka Canneries and Akzo Nobel.

“This year too US Embassy in Colombo, Sri Lanka- Maldives Business Council (SLMBC) and National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) too will have separate stalls.” In addition the Culinary Challenge which is one of the highly anticipated events at Hotel Asia would also be also held alongside the event.

Chefs and Service personnel from both the best of the Maldivian Resort and from other participating nations will vie for top honours at the competition.

The Culinary Challenge itself adds a unique and diverse facet to the event, harnessing the best of talent in the region in one common place.

Alan Palmer, Global Culinary Event Organiser will be the Chief Judge along with a panel of internationally recognised culinary professionals. The Award and Certificates that are given in recognition of the skill and quality of the chefs are regarded as world class endorsements for the participants internationally.

The Culinary Challenge itself adds a unique and diverse facet to the event, harnessing the best of talent in the region in one common place. The event will be declared open by the Maldivian Economic Development Minister, Ahmed Mohammed.
