Rajans confront Royal today

The unbeaten Dharmaraja College Kandy who are enjoying a marvellous season will play their final match of the Singer 'A' division segment one league tournament when they confront Royal College Colombo at the Royal Sports Complex Colombo today.

The Rajans have already clinched the 'A' division league title this year and should have the edge over Royal College today. The Reid Avenue School is having an average season and on last Saturday suffered a moral shattering 20 - 29 defeat at the hands of traditional rivals S.Thomas' having one week earlier scored a superb 13 - 9 win over Trinity in the Bradby Shield Second Leg.

To add to their woes the lads from Reid Avenue will miss the services of flanker Keshan Peiris, Scrum half Nevaan Perera and Centre Devin de Silva who are on the injured list and will face an uphill task against the rampaging Rajans.

Peiris's place in the third row will be taken by Yasuon Weerasuriya while Gayal Jayasinghe will operate from the base of the scrum in the absence of Nevaan Perera while 17 year old Akash Iddawela takes over from Devin de Silva as Centre.

Skipper and Fly Half Rochana Hettiarachchi, Centre Buwaneka Udangamuwa and that attacking Full Back Thilina Wijesinghe are the key players in the Rajans team and should come up with another sterling display today.
