Police Advisory, Civil Defence Committees to be set up

Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa directed the IGP to set up Police Advisory Committees and Civil Defence Committees covering each and every Police Station with immediate effect.

Illegal migrants arrested

Twenty three persons who attempted to illegally migrate to Australia by boat were arrested by Kalawanchikudi Police. The six men, eight women and nine children were waiting to get on board a boat at Wettpalayam beach in Kalawanchikudi yesterday around 5.30 a.m. when they were nabbed by the Police.
