One dead in three wheeler collision

A three wheeler driver died and another person was seriously injured when the three wheeler they were traveling in collided with another three stationed three wheelers and toppled in Teldeniya on Monday night. R Sarwan of Ambakote, aged 41 died in the incident. The injured person was admitted to the Menikhinna hospital.

Teldeniya Police are investigating. Meanwhile, a motorcyclist died and the pillion rider was seriously injured when the bicycle they were riding collided head on with a van in Poliyankulama on the A9 in Anuradhapura.

Twenty one year old B M Hasitha Sameera Ariyaratne of Kebithigollewa died in the incident. The driver of the van was arrested by the Anuradhapura Police was produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
