Colombo Additional Magistrate A.M Shaheed
yesterday further remanded interdicted former DIG Vaas Gunawardena
untill July 9, 2013. Six other suspects who had been taken into
custody in connection with the killing of businessman Mohamed Siyam
were detained until the completion of the ongoing investigations.

Lankan officers cut short their Wellington defence course
Two officers of the Sri Lanka Security Forces
who were following the Defence Services Staff Course (DSSC) in
Wellington in India returned to the country prematurely as they were
transferred to a another course due to security concerns. These
officers returned to the country yesterday.
