Govt members to PSC
Speaker of the House Chamal Rajapaksa named the following as Members
of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) to study ways and means to
unify all communities as one nation, both politically and
constitutionally.
Nimal Siripala de Silva (Chariman), Prof. G.L. Peiris, Anura
Priyadharshana Yapa, Maithripala Sirisena, W.D.J. Senevirathne, Dinesh
Gunawardene, Lakshman Senevirathne, Douglas Devananda, Susil
Premajayantha, A.L.M. Athaullah, DEW Gunasekera, Rishard Badiurdeen,
Patali Champika, Basil Rajapaksa, Wimal Weerawansa, Vasudewa Nanayakkara,
Mutthu Sivalingam, Sudharshani Fernandopulle and Jana Priyanthabandara.
The UNP had not submitted its list of names to the PSC. In
Parliament. Opposition Chief Whip John Amaratunga informed the House
that his Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had sent a letter to President
Mahinda Rajapaksa and depending on the reply he receives from the
President the party would consider naming UNP representatives to the PSC. |
