An Ayurveda Nutrition Centre (Poshana Mandiraya) constructed by the
Sri Lanka Navy and funded by the Indigenous Medicine Ministry was
ceremonially opened by Indigenous Medicine Minister Salinda Dissanayake
in Nagadeepa, Jaffna recently.
The opening of an Ayurveda Centre in Nagadeepa fulfills a long-felt
need of the public. The centre will benefit people living in
neighbouring islets and Jaffna as well, sources said.
Nagadeepa Viharaya Chief Incumbent Ven Navadagala Padmakeerthi Thera
addressing the gathering appreciated the services of the Navy and paid
tribute to the interest and support given by the Northern Naval Command
to the public living in Jaffna.
He also praised the completion of the facility, originally estimated
at Rs 10 million, utilising only Rs 3.5 million due to the excellent
management by the Navy.

Medicine Ministry officials, students and teachers of neighbouring
