Vidath 5/15 spins STC Matara to 54-run win

Right Arm off spinner Vidath Jayanidu captured five wickets for fifteen runs to give St Thomas' College Matara a fifty four run win in their under 17 division one tournament match against P de S Kulerathne

College Ambalangoda. The match reduced to 41 overs per team was played at the Uyanwatta stadium on Monday (17th) .

Prabath Sameera skipper of the Kulerathne team opted to field and did well to restrict the home team to 133 runs. Thomian skipper Lasith Lakshan and D K Weerarathne scored 17 runs each but the total was boosted by erratic bowling with 40 extras ( 36 wides, 2byes, 2leg byes) conceded.

The Thomians bundled out the visitors for 79 runs with Vidath Jayanidu 5.15 and Osanda Gamage 2/15 dong most of the damage. Maleesha Harshajeewa scored 23 runs off 57 balls. The home team conceded only 15 extras (13 wides, 1 bye, 1 legbye).
