Enumeration of electors begins

The annual enumeration of electors for this year commenced on May 15. Measures were taken to create awareness among the public, that the distribution of enumeration forms, -- the BC forms -- to the chief occupants was to be carried out from May 15 to June 2 and the collection of the forms was to be done from June 2 to July 1, an Elections secretariat release said. The release as a part of this, collection of enumeration forms in some selected Municipal Council' Urban Council areas was done on 02.06.2013.

By now, most of the enumeration of electors in certain areas of the island including Galle Fort in Galle District, Kalutara Urban Council in Kalutara District, Vavuniya Urban Council in Vavuniya District, Madu area in Mannar District, Ratnapura Municipal Council and Balangoda Urban Council in Ratnapura District and Senanayakapura in Ampara District have been completed as at June 2.
