Teachers, students to fight Dengue 'war'

The Education Ministry will train 1,500 school prefects and 590 senior school teachers this month on eradicating Dengue breeding grounds in schools and surrounding areas in Kurunegala and Puttalam districts.

Nearly 2,000 past pupils and representatives of Parent Teachers' Associations will be trained by regional health authorities on the instructions of the North Western Provincial Council Education Ministry. They will be trained for three days and then assigned to carry out shramadana campaigns in schools with the support of school heads, sources said.
