Female undergrad dies

A female undergraduate of the Colombo University’s Science Faculty who jumped off the fifth floor of the campus building on Monday, succumbed to her injuries at the Colombo National Hospital yesterday.

According to Police sources, the undergraduate sustained severe injuries after jumping off the building at around 11.30 am on Monday. Shashipaba Ranmali Gunawardena of Lunugamvehera had sat for the Advanced Level examination thrice in the science stream to enter the university. She had followed lectures at the Sri Jayawardanapura University for over one week before she came over to the University of Colombo.
