Special Poson illumination by CEB

The Ceylon Electricity Board has launched a special illumination programme in Anuradhapura and Mihintale sacred sites for the Poson religious festive week.

Paralell to the clean up and restoration programme underway in the 580 acre Mihintale sacred city area on the instructions of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the CEB has allocated Rs 2.5 million to permanently illuminate sites such as Girikanta Seya, Mihindu Seya, Katu Seya, Indikatu Seya, Mihindu Guhawa (cave), Kantaka Cetiya, Eth Vehera and the historic hospital site according to CEB's North Central Deputy General Manager Gratien Muthukudaarachchi.
