The event will be organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise Developers (SMED) and the SME development arm of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The event will highlight value additions on international stalls, B2B meetings and special areas of emphasis and the focal intention of the event is to support the country's SME sector in the regional economy and to prepare them for the global market.

This year's exhibition will open up with a change in the expo's sectioning where five important aspects including Machinery, Technology, Material and Services as a special pavilion will be showcased.

The event will also showcase a face-lift with the addition of seminars, workshops, consultancy, workshops and advisory sessions, which will be organized in parallel to the Exhibition to cater for the technology and professional capacity building requirement of the SMEs. This addition will also provide support to related machineries and services with the inclusion of local and international technology.

The presence of more than 150 companies including 50 international stalls and delegates this year will also be another highlight to the value addition.

Business delegates from countries including India, China, Malaysia and Pakistan will be present and assist in opening a new platform to the Sri Lankan SME sector to help build up international linkages which is one of the prime objectives of the Mahinda Chintana.

The three day event will run on themed programmes which will be introduced to the three days where the first day's theme will be placed on the 'SME policy framework', the second day's theme will be on 'technology and innovations' and the third day's will be on 'consumer rights, marketing and branding excellences'.
