DIG Vaas Gunawardena arrested

DIG Colombo North Vaas Gunawardena was arrested last evening by the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with the murder of a businessman from Bambalapitiya on May 22.

One Sub Inspector and another three constables were arrested on June 6 in connection with the abduction and murder of the businessman in Dompe.

DIG Vaas Gunawardena was questioned and arrested by the CID in connection with the same murder.

According to the Police, the businessman has been murdered on a contract of Rs 3 million by another businessman.
