JHU meets President on 13A
The leaders of the Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) called on President
Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday to discuss proposed
amendments to the 13th Amendment, states a press release from the
President’s Media Division.
The release adds: “Views were exchanged at this meeting on the JHU’s
five essential amendments to the Constitution proposed by the party
before the Northern Provincial Council is established.
“The President responding to the JHU demands expressed that two
factors pointed out by them have already been directed for ministerial
consideration and the rest will also be immediately directed to the
Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC).
“The President said he would also provide an opportunity to members
of the Government to express their views regarding this matter”. |
