Wimal takes action to repair damaged houses

The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) on the directions of Construction, Engineering Service, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa will take prompt action to repair the houses in Soysapura flats that were damaged due to the strong winds experienced in Colombo and the suburbs.

The Minister made a sudden inspection of the Soysapura flats complex in Moratuwa and directed NHDA officials to take immediate action to help the affected people.

Minister Weerawansa who addressed the gathering after witnessing the damage promised to repair the roofs in the upper floors of 11 buildings which are under construction.

The Minister instructed the NHDA, Sri Lanka State Engineering Cooperation officials and building contractors to immediately repair the damaged roofs.

NHDA sources promised to complete the repairs within two or three days as per the directions of the Minister. The people thanked the Minister for looking in to their problem.
