Buddhika, the youngest to receive a First Class Degree in BIT
Buddhika Anjalee Ratnayake received a First Class Degree in
Information Technology (External) from the Colombo University.
She also received two gold medals for Best Performance Best Project –
for Institute of National Education, Maharagama at the convocation held
at BMICH, Colombo under the auspices of Vice Chancellor, Colombo
University.
Ratnayake, a product of Musaeus College, Colombo received highest
results at London O/L and A/L exams.
She is the youngest who received a First Class Degree (BIT) from
Colombo University and she thanks her lecturers Ragukumar Steven
Thanganathan, Sanas Ragukumar and Uditha Priyanga for the excellent
support given throughout the degree programme.
She has shown her prowess in extra curricular activities in different
fields. She was a player of the school oriental musical band. She has
taken part in school dramas by performing and singing.
Ratnayake has studied music under Nanda Malini and launched a CD with
her songs (Punchi Sindu) in which songstress Nanda Malini joined
Ratnayake. She has written two books ‘Amalige Sihinaya’ and ‘Mukalane
Holman.’
Ratnayake received an award for Amalige Sihinaya from First Lady
Shiranthi Rajapaksa at the HNB – Handa Mama Children’s programme.
Ratnayake is veteran media persons Dhammika R Ratnayake’s (Sri Lanka
Broadcasting Corporation) and Deepanee Ratnayake’s second daughter.
Ratnayake is at present a software engineer in a private firm.
