The team of auditors was led by Ms. Marilyn Sneddon, a well
experienced senior auditor and surveyor, attached to ACHSI, globally
recognized as a leading body for hospital accreditation with a strong
presence in Australia, South East Asia and South Asia. In 2011, Hemas
Hospital became the first hospital in Sri Lanka to be recognized with an
international standard and ever since, the hospital has maintained the
acquired standards in delivering the quality patient care and best
clinical outcomes.
Expressing satisfaction at the renewal of the accreditation, General
Manager of Hemas Hospital-Wattala, Dr. Samanthi de Silva, said that
accreditation was important to any hospital, since it was a hallmark of
the highest standards of service, quality of patient care and safety
practices. It was also proof that the hospital strives to deliver
exceptional patient care as it takes pride in ensuring that everyone who
steps in, experiences the best in healthcare and hospitality, she added.
Hemas Hospital stands out in the industry as the only hospital to have
an international accreditation repeatedly two years since first reaching
the milestone.
Meanwhile, Hemas Hospital successfully completed the periodic review
audits for occupational health and safety (OHSAS 18001) and laboratory
quality standards (ISO 9001) as well recently. With these achievements,
Hemas Hospital chain has been able to create much interest in the
industry on achieving quality standards and is perceived as the trend
setter in the Sri Lankan private healthcare industry. Hemas Hospitals is
a subsidiary of Hemas Holdings, one of Sri Lanka’s leading conglomerates
with a focus on five key sectors - FMCG, Healthcare, Transportation,
Leisure and Power generation. |
