'Stop Diabetes' awareness community project from Solo

Hemas Wellness, being committed to its responsibility towards the community in which it exists and operates, recently embarked on a community based project that sees teams of wellness personnel together with medical personnel visiting various hospitals and medical centers around the island and conducting diabetes clinics as well as awareness programmes.

These clinics are made available to the people of the area, free of charge, whereby people can check blood sugar levels and if diabetic conditions are found to exist they are then advised and instructed on the proper maintenance and treatment that can and must be done in order to control the condition.

Hemas Wellness embarked on this worthy 'Stop Diabetes' project in conjunction with 2013 being the year dedicated to eradicating non communicable diseases.

It has been found that the main cause for these diseases especially in Sri Lanka is lack of education regarding the causes, symptoms and treatment.

As a large segment of those being diagnosed with diabetes is the youth and middle aged segment, Hemas Wellness has targeted this group in their ?Stop Diabetes? community project.

Apart from free clinics conducted, the project also includes lectures and workshops conducted at Universities such as the one conducted at Sri Jayawardenapura University for over 500 youth.

Marketed by Hemas Wellness, Solo is certainly a step in the right direction for all those who wish to make a positive change in their lifestyles in a bid to control sugar levels that induce diabetes.

The increased number of those switching to solo is a testimony to the radical changes solo can do in your life. Diabetes, if detected early enough can be treated and be controlled.

Hemas Wellness, as an active and dedicated division of Hemas Pharmaceuticals is committed to manufacturing and marketing a wide range of innovative and high quality over the counter health and wellness products throughout Sri Lanka.

Backed by Hemas Pharmaceuticals and the Hemas Holding Company, Hemas Wellness is dedicated to enriching the lives of those in the country.

Hemas Wellness believes that a concentrated education of the masses and a collective approach to the treatment and prevention of diabetes will result in building a healthy Sri Lankan citizen.
