Upali to head probe committee on FFSL
Chairman of the Sugathadasa National Sports Complex Authority
Brigadier Priyantha Samarathunga who was the head of the committee
appointed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Sports under the
instructions of Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage, to probe
into alleged financial frauds at the Sri Lanka Football Federation, has
resigned due to personal reasons.
Therefore, Minister Aluthgamage has appointed a new committee headed
by retired Judge and Ex-Commissioner General of the Prisons Upali
Samaraweera, the Ministry of Sports said.
Attorney-at-Law Panduka Keerthinanda has been appointed as the
Secretary of the new committee while B M K Mohottala (Former Assistant
Auditor General) and S P Wijeratne Chief Accountant of the Ministry of
Sports were appointed as the committee members.
The new Committee is to handover the report to the Minister of Sports
in two weeks, the Ministry said.
