Global investors keen to invest in Sri Lanka - Nepali business

Chaudhary Group of Nepal Chairman Binod K. Chaudhary said global
investors were very keen to invest in Sri Lanka and the investment
climate as well as the infrastructure was praiseworthy. Ranked as the
worlds’ 1,342nd richest man, he said that investors throughout the world
whom he meets were excited about investing in Sri Lanka.
Chaudhary has been visiting Sri Lanka for the past 17 years and had
invested with both the Taj and the Jetwing Groups. He said during the
last few years, he had seen a vast transformation and beautification in
the city of Colombo and that Sri Lanka could be another Singapore, as
predicted by former Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kwan Yew.
“I am highly impressed with the development that has been taking
place in Colombo and I see a big difference.”
Chaudhary Group of Nepal, while reinvesting in their businesses in
Sri Lanka, is also looking at establishing a cement factory in the North
together with several other hotels throughout Sri Lanka.
He said he had met President Mahinda Rajapaksa on several occasions
and was a great admirer of the President. |
