MOU signed for UK top degrees

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) had been signed between Infortec Internatonal Institute of Information Technology and FTMS Global Academy for UK Top up degrees recently at the Olympic House, Colombo.

This would pave the way for students who follow the InfoTech International Higher Diploma in Computer Science-HDCS, to earn a BSc Honours Degree in IT & ICT, within a period of 18 months after the successful completion of the HDCS. The 1st year and the first semester of the 2nd year of the BSc degree, would be totally exempted for Infortec Higher Diploma students under this MOU.

The degrees have been offered by the University of East London & Anglia Ruskin University - UK Infortec International.

Addressing the gathering, the Director of FTMS Sirjith Gill, said that, "together with Infortec International, we would be providing a wider path to students to access higher education. This would basically make opportunities to students who were bright and talented to receive scholarships and study abroad. Our management is backed by well qualified academics," she stressed.

Infortec International Higher Diploma in Computer Science is the most prestigious academic programme conducted in Infortec International Institute of Information Technology. This is a 12 months programme that covers 60 credits and consists of 2 semesters with a rich syllabus in Computer Science. Students could specialize in Computer Programming or Management Information System during their academic year. At present, 02 subjects of Certificate Level of BCS higher education qualification and 02 subjects of Diploma Level of BCS higher education qualification are exempted for Infortec International HDCS. After the MOU, HDCS students could directly go for a BSc Hons degree in IT & ICT of University of East London and the Anglia Ruskin University.
