First ever Software Product Engineering Conference in Sri Lanka
In recent times, Sri Lanka has seen a tremendous boom in the IT/BPO
and Knowledge Service industry, which is marked to be one of the top
revenue earners for the country. It is estimated that the industry will
grow and become a billion dollar industry by 2016 and is currently among
the top 20 outsourcing destinations.
With the growing demand of IT outsourcing knowledge services from Sri
Lanka, IT personnel in the local industry formed a community called
“Colombo Camps Community,” with an objective to bridge gaps in terms of
knowledge and skills as well as to educate the software developer
community on latest technological developments and trends taking place
in the global market place.
The community has organized many informative sessions with
international and local speakers sharing their knowledge on areas such
as Agile methodologies, Coding practices, MS SharePoint practices,
iPhone development, etc., in an attempt to bring global benchmarked
practices to Sri Lanka whilst enabling Sri Lankan services reach world
class standards. In this effort, the community reached over 350
participants during last year alone.
Software Product Engineering has become an immensely popular subject
in the recent past and has caught the eye of many in the Global IT
Outsourcing Industry. In an effort to bring international benchmarked
practices, the Colombo Camps Community is organizing the first ever
“Software Product Engineering Conference,” which is to be held on June
14 at the Waters Edge, Grand Ballroom. ICTA is partnering with the
Colombo Camps Community as the strategic partner for this event.
This conference will feature seven international speakers who will be
sharing their experiences and knowledge with real world case studies on
a host of aspects on Software Engineering practices.
Some of the areas that the speakers will address at the conference
are Business Aspects of Software Product Engineering, Mobile App
Development Practices, Automation, Cloud Computing and Product
Architecture. |
