Disabled Police personnel receive wheel chairs, crutches

The Police personnel who became disabled during the 30 year war
against the LTTE received wheel chairs and crutches from Inspector
General of Police N K Illangakoon at a ceremony at the Police
Headquarters yesterday.
IGP Illangakoon who distributed crutches and wheel chair to the
disabled police personnel in the Colombo District said other disabled
police personnel living in other parts of the country will also receive
crutches and other items today.
The IGP paid tribute to all police personnel who were disabled,
injured and paid the supreme sacrifice during the war.
Senior DIGs Gamini Navaratne, Anura Senanayake, DIGS Gamini
Dissanayake, Ravi Waidalankara, Chandra Nimal Wagista, A. H. Jayaweera,
Ajith Wickremasekera, Latiff, Eric Perera, Maxie Proctor and Percy
Kulatunga of the Police headquarters office also assisted the IGP to
distribute items among disabled Police personnel at yesterday’s
ceremony.
The disabled Police personnel who received several items including
crutches and wheel chairs thanked the Buddhist Organisation of the
Police Department, IGP Illangakoon and senior Police personnel.
The ceremony was organised by the Buddhist Association of the Police
Department assisted by the Police Public Relation Division. |
