Three die in accidents

Three persons lost their lives in motor accidents which occurred in the Dickwella Police area during the new year week.

The Dickwella Police said that two persons died when a commercial vehicle ran off the road at Lunukalapuwa, Dickwella and crashed into a wall while a 79 year old woman died after being run over by a three wheeler taxi near the Doowawatta Housing scheme.

Meanwhile 11 drunken drivers were arrested during traffic operations conducted on the two new year holidays. Steps have been taken to file legal action against them.
