Van on fire on highway

A dolpin van travelling from Colombo to Galle caught fire and was totally destroyed near the Welipenna inter-change on the Southern Expressway, Police said. Police said they however managed to save the driver and other occupants in the van who were of a Muslim family.

They had been returning to their native Akuressa village after a trip to Jaffna. The Elpitiya Police is investigating.
