Mahara development underway

The government has taken steps to develop the Mahara Divisional Secretariat division on the instruction of Engineering Services, Housing and Construction Deputy Minister and Mahara chief SLFP organiser Lasantha Alagiyawanna.

The development of infrastructure activities has been given top priority. They include the improvement to rural roads, provision of water and electricity, enhancement of facilities in pre-schools and other basic amenities for residents in the Mahara electorate.
