Nine Horana schools to be developed as child-friendly schools

Nine schools have been selected from the Horana Educational Zone to be developed as Child Friendly Schools.

Rs 500,000 will be provided to each school under this programme.

The schools are Kakulaliya Primary College, Ingiriya; Sumanajothi Primary College, Ingiriya; Raigamwatta Tamil College, Ingiriya; Parakramabahu Primary College, Ingiriya; Dharmaloka College, Uurugala; Nambapana Primary College; Kotigangoda Subharathi College; Kananwila Sugathapala College and Horana Millewa Primary College.

The project was launched at Kakulaliya Primary College, Ingiriya recently.

The foundation laying ceremony for a building was launched by Kalutara District Parliamentarian Vidura Wickramanayaka.

Education Director of Horana Prema Wijethunga and Kakulaliya College Principal W M Deepani Kumari also participated in the ceremony.
