Body found

Habaraduwa Police on Tuesday found the body of a woman at the beach in Paluwagaha junction in Habaraduwa.

The woman appeared to be around 60 years old was 5’ tall. She was wearing a white sleeveless jacket and a blue skirt. She had misaligned teeth on her upper jaw. The body was sent to Karapitiya hospital morgue for the post-mortem.

Woman killed in van-train collision

A 78 year old woman died and another woman and a man were seriously injured when a van collided with a train on a railway crossing in Weligama on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred near the Siddhartha Vidyalaya when the van was crossing the railway line unaware of oncoming the Matara bound train. The woman, A Punchihewa, died in the incident.

Six injured in accident

Six persons, including a three year boy, were admitted to Dambulla hospital in a critical condition when a double cab crashed into a tractor on the Kandy road in Dambulla yesterday.

The boy was transfered to Kandy hospital. Investigations are continuing.
