Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa
visited the Jaffna Peninsular on Monday. He distributed
school uniforms among over 1,500 students. The ceremony
organized by the 52 Division of the Army was held in Varani.
Over 100 teachers and 24 principals also received gifts from
the Defence Secretary. The programme was sponsored by Sri
Lankans domiciled in Canada. Northern Commander Major Gneral
Mahinda Hathurusinghe and provincial education authorities

Roads at Kattankudy developed at Rs
100 million funded by the Economic Development Ministry
under the Deyata Kirula -2013 National Development

Sameen Prasana Perera of No.31
St.Johns Road, Negombo, was murdered on Tuesday by some
gangsters who assaulted him with a helmet. The person who is
under suspicion is a resident of Munnakkarai, Negombo. Some
friends of him are also under suspicion. Relatives and
residents of the area launched a protest against Negombo
Police for not arresting the culprits. They marched along
