Duminda Silva released

Colombo High Court Judge Lalith Jayasuriya yesterday released MP Duminda Silva who had been remanded in connection with the assassination of Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.

The Judge directed Silva to furnish cash bail in Rs 50,000 and a bond of Rs 500,000 each with two sureties.

Senior State Counsel Sudarshan de Silva appeared for the prosecution – the Criminal Investigation Department. Senior Attorney Anuja Premaratne supported the bail application on behalf of Silva.
