Thurstan win T20 encounter

Thurstan College beat their arch rivals Isipathana College by four wickets in their annual inter-school T20 cricket match played for Priya Paranavithane Challenge Trophy which worked off at Thurstan College grounds and now the tally stands at three each.

Taking the first lease Thurstanites scored 143 for 6 with Ramindu Kumarasinghe making the top score of 33 runs while Milhaj Jaleel too contributed 30 runs. Kavindu Dananjaya bagged 2 for 20.

In reply, Pathanians were 125 for 6 in their allotted twenty overs with Dinesh Jayakumar scoring 28 runs and Rajitha Perera claimed 3 for 16 for the winners.

Thurstan - 143/6 in 20 overs (Ramindu Kumarasinghe 33, Minhaj Jaleel 30, Chalana Nanayakkara 24 n.o, Kamindu Dananjaya 2/20).

Isipathana - 125/6 in 20 overs (Dinesh Jayakumar 28, Malin Dias 24, Davish Nimesha 22, Rajitha Perera 3/16).
