Cambrians, Sebs into semis

Thilan Nimesh with an excellent bowling spell of 5 for 8 helped
Prince of Wales’ College to beat Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa and
enter into the semi-finals of the Kotmale Chox inter-schools under 19,
T20 cricket tournament. The match was worked off at Colombo.
Cambrians batting first were all out for 138 runs with a sparkling
knock of 69 runs by Hasitha Lanka and ably supported by Shanuka Dulaj
who made 34 runs.
Vazians skipper Kasun Vidura claimed 2 for 9. In reply Vazians were
bowled out for 115 runs with skipper Kasun Vidura making the highest
score of 32 runs.
PWC – 138 in 18.3 overs (Hasitha Lanka 69, Shanuka Dulaj 34,
Deepankara Peiris 2/30, Kasun Vidura 2/9).
JV – 115 in 18.5 overs (Kasun Vidura 32, Shehan Fernando 24,
Thilan Nimesh 5/8).
Sebs beat Nalanda
St Sebastians College, Moratuwa beat formidable Nalanda College,
Colombo by 23 runs and booked a berth in the semi-finals of the all
island inter-school under 19 T20 cricket tournament and the match was
played at Bloomfield grounds.
Taking the first lease Sebs scored 138 for 5 in their allotted twenty
overs and in reply Nalanda got out for 115 runs in 18.5 overs.
St Sebastian’s College: 186/6 in 20 overs (Shan Fernando 31,
Sangeeth Cooray 26, Malinga Amarasinghe 2/28)
Nalanda College: 106 all out in 18 overs (Dilan Venura 30,
Rashmika Vijayanga 26, Prameesh Fernando 4/17, Anuk Fernando 3/21,
Sangeeth Cooray 2/16).
