Trinity win thriller against Kingswood

Trinity College, Kandy a fairly 38 points (2 goals, 2 tries, 3
penalties) to 21 (1 goal, 1 try, 3 penalties) win over Kingswood College
in their schools under 19 Division one schools rugby tournament match
played at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium at Pallekele yesterday.
At half time the Kingswoodians led 16-15.
It was the Trinitians who kept the scoreboard ticking with a 35 metre
penalty fixed by fly half Tharinda Ratwatte and they also increased
their tally through a try scored by M D Perera.
Another penalty put over by Kingswood Centre K R Wijesinghe grab the
lead. Centre K R Wijesinghe put the Kingswoodians further ahead through
a 30 metre penalty.
The Trinitians reduced the lead through a penalty put over by fly
half Tharinda Ratwatte.
Kingswoodian forged further ahead when scrum half M S Mohamed scored
mid right and centre LR Wijesinghe added the extra points.
A penalty put over before the short blast fly Tharinda Ratwatte saw
the Trintians reduce the lead to 15-16.
But the second half was dominated by the Trinitians as they run
through their opponents defence to end up victory.
They scored tried through winger Lochana Girihagama (1), flanker N
Samarakoon (1), No 8. A Perera skipper and full back Halique Wadood.
Two of these tries were goaled by scrum half A N Perera. For
Kingswood L R Wijesinghe fired 2 penalties in this half.
