NCC helps youths lead successful lives

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) helps the young generation develop
skills and aptitude which will help them to lead a successful life. All
officers attached to the NCC have a great responsibility to support the
school cadets to make their efforts a success, said NCC Director Major
General Gamini Jayasundara.

Major General Jayasundara was addressing the passing out parade of
the battalion assessment camp of Galle 01 and Kalutara 12 battalions at
the NCC parade grounds Rantebe on April 3.
He said the schoolchildren who receive comprehensive training as a
school cadet under the NCC can face any challenge in their lives. All
measures are taken to make this training effective and successful under
the guidance of Urban Development and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya
Rajapaksa, he said.
Ambalangoda Dharmashoka Viyalaya won the champions' trophy of the
first battalion while Ingiriya Gamini Central College bagged the
champions' trophy of the 12th battalion.
Major General advised the cadets to lead a good life without being a
burden to parents and the motherland.
Senior Officers attached to the Tri-Forces and NCC, Principals and
academic staff of the schools and a large numbers of parents were
present. |
