The Opposition is in total disarray and it can never think of forming
a government for another 30 years or more, Sports Minister Mahindananda
Aluthgamage said at a meeting at Galpaya under the ‘Nil Rella’ SLFP
re-organization programme recently.
Aluthgamage said the Opposition Leader had no control over the UNP as
it had broken into almost four different groupings.
The JVP too had broken into two sections with one section supporting
the government. Opposition parties had no genuine issues to lobby public
opinion to its side in the face of the massive development schemes
launched by the government to rebuild the nation. Now that terrorism had
been wiped out, people can live in peace and engage in their vocations
without fear or suspicion.
The government was engaged in national development to ensure a better
future to the child generation. Parliamentarian Eric Weerawardena,
Provincial Council Member P Samaranayake and several other local
councillors were also present on the occasion. |
