Lankaputhra Bank opens in Trincomalee
In line with Supporting the Nagenahira Navodaya Development
Programme, the eighth branch of Lankaputhra Development Bank opened at
Kandy Road, Trincomalee by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development
Susantha Punchinilame.

Addressing the gathering, Kumudiniy Kulathunga, Chairperson of LDB
stated that the main aim of opening a branch in Trincomalee is to
directly support the development efforts of the East in the areas of
tourism, fisheries, industries, livestock and agriculture. Ms. Kulatunga
also said that customers who deposit money at the Lankaputhra
Development Bank can be happy that they are contributing to the
development efforts of the East.
Lankaputhra Development Bank is a fully fledged government Bank
opened to strengthen the local economy by supporting the entrepreneurs
of the country.
The bank has initiated many loan schemes to support the Small and
Medium entrepreneurs in the country such as project loans, micro finance
loan scheme, “Sarusara” (NCRCS), Saubagya Loan scheme and Jayadiri
special loan scheme.
Apart from these loan schemes, bank offers Shasthree Higher Education
loan scheme, E top computer loan scheme, Laksaviya leasing facility and
Laksahana pawning facility. Several savings schemes including Lakmuthu
children’s savings are on offer for the younger generation with
attractive rate of interest. |
