Mercantile Investments and Finance's Annual Report recognized at SAFA awards

Mercantile Investments and Finance PLC (MI) was honored for its Annual report yet again this time receiving a merit award in the financial services sector category at the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) best presented Annual Report Awards competition held in March 2013 for the FY 2010/11.

This international award was received by the Finance Director of MI, Shermal Jayasuriya from the Vice President of SAFA, S. K. Agrawal at the awards ceremony held at CA Sri Lanka in grand style.

MI has been able to commendably secure other internationally accolades as well for its Annual report 2011/12 which the company received last year. MI's Annual Report of 2011/12 won the Silver award for its cover photo and design, at the Arc Awards held in New York, in the financial services -general category in 2012, while winning a bronze for the overall report at the League of American Communication Professional (LACP), in the financial diversified services category, held again in New York late last year.

The Company has been continuing to win accolades for more than a decade for its superior financial reporting, presentation and transparent disclosure, producing Annual Reports even when the Company was not quoted on the stock exchange.

MI is probably the only company to have won twelve consecutive Gold Awards under the Finance Company Sector, in the Annual Reports Competition organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka.

MI is a licensed Finance Company registered under the Finance Business Act No. 42 of 2011 and quoted in the Colombo Stock Exchange. The company has gone from strength to strength in its field of financing business, on the verge of reaching to its fiftieth successful year in business operations.
