People’s Bank door to door savings for all
The Jaya Sri 2013 promotion will be initiated by all branches of
People’s Bank with the Door-to-Door promotion commencing on March 30,
2013 from the premises of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya, Anuradhapura.
A special religious ceremony is scheduled to be held at 7.30 am
amidst the participation of members of the clergy. The ceremony will be
attended by Chairman of People’s Bank, Gamini Senarath together with the
Board of Directors, Corporate and Executive Management of the bank and
members of staff.
Similarly at 1.30 pm the Jaya Sri Walk and Door-to-Door promotion
will commence from the premises of the Nuwarweva Branch of People’s
Bank. Simultaneously, all members of staff belonging to the 727 branches
and service centres of People’s Bank located islandwide will begin their
respective door-to-door promotions.
Commenting on the promotion, Deputy General Manager (Operations) of
People’s Bank, Boniface Silva said that through the People’s Bank
Door-to-Door promotion, the general public will be informed of loan
facilities of People’s Bank and will be promoting the importance of
saving amongst them. The aim of this promotion is to reaffirm People’s
Bank position as a financial institution that contributes towards both
the personal development and development of the country. By providing
loan facilities for small and medium scale businesses, members of the
public will be given opportunities for self-employment and have access
to a host of business sectors ranging from Fisheries, Agriculture,
Commercial and Textiles. While providing interest and other benefits to
those who save, the Jaya Sri 2013 programme will offer customers a
fabulous opportunity to win exciting and valuable prizes. It is
important to note that a large number of staff of People’s Bank will be
voluntarily carrying out Door-to-Door promotions in their respective
areas.
Commenting at the occasion, Deputy General Manager (Retail Banking)
of People’s Bank, Renuka Jayasinghe said that commencing the Jaya Sri
2013 programme and Door-to-Door promotion from the premises of the Jaya
Sri Maha Bodhiya was significant in nature. This is because it resembled
as to how in the years gone by important journeys would also commence
from such a sacred premises. Instead of the public making their way to
the bank, here it was the bank that was going towards the people.
The general public would be informed about the habit of saving and
facilities of the bank. Maintaining a minimum balance of Rs. 10,000 for
a month will enable customers to enter the monthly draw while
maintaining a minimum balance of Rs. 50,000 will provide customers with
an opportunity to enter the Year End Grand Draw. At the monthly draw, a
Suzuki Alto Car, 24 cash prizes each worth Rs. 100,000 and 690 cash
prizes each worth Rs. 10,000 can be won every month. At the Year End
Grand Draw, 2 super luxury houses each worth Rs. One million can also be
won or customers can choose to receive the value in cash. A feature of
this programme is that more winning chances are offered to those who
