Cricket fiesta in Matugama

The National Cricket Stars team, made of present and past national cricketers and the Mathugama old Anandians and St. Mary’s combined team will meet in an twenty20 exhibition cricket match at the Matugama Public Grounds today at 9.30 am. This match will be played to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the Pasdun Korale Annual Cricket Encounter and is organized by the Ananda Sharastralaya Old Boys’ Association and former cricketers who represented Ananda Shrastralaya.

The Cricket Stars team will be led by former Test captain Hashan Thillakaratne and he will have the 1996 World Cup winers, Pramodya Wickramasinghe and Raveendra Pushpakumara while Dilshan Munaweera, Sanjeewa Ranathunga, Malinga Bandara, Kaushalya Weerarathne, Lanka de Silva, Dilruwan Perera, Machael Vandort, Nuwan Soyza, Gayan Wijekoon, Nadeera Nawala and Ajith Ekanayake.
