Bens come out for the first time today

St Benedict’s College, Kotahena, will begin their rugby season with
the first match against Piliyandala Central today at the Sugathadasa
Stadium.
The Bens fifteen consists of young talented players and are led by
2nd year player and full back Yurak Aravinth Fernando. His deputy is
Nimesh Silva who plays centre.
The Bens are coached by former Issipathana and CH & FC and Sri Lankan
player Baratha Hegoda.
The team receives good support from the Director, Rev, Bro. Janaka
Fonseka F.S.C. as well as Rohan Gunaratne former Benedictine , Ex
Airforce, Police SC and Sri Lankan captain.Former Benedictine captain
Maurice Rodrigo,Secretary, Old Bens Rugger Union also helps the
ruggerites. |
