‘Mini Battle’ ends in a draw

The ‘Mini Battle’ between Thurstan College under 19 ‘A’ and Isipatana
Vidyalya under 19 ‘A’ team ended in a team draw. Thurstan batting first
scored 101 runs and the top score was made by Sahan Dasanayake and in
reply Pathamians declared at 135 for 9 with Praneeth Dias scoring 25
runs and send Wijesinghe and Ayesh Weeratne claimed 3 for 30 and 3 for
24 respectively.
In their second essay Thurstanites bounced back and Aruna Gunawardena
was unbeaten on 53 runs and Pimira Jayasinghe made 40 and Thurstan
declared at 185 for 9 Yemoesh Munasinghe had a good spell of 5 for 79.
At the end of day two Isipatana were 58 for 5 2ith Dinesh Perera
scoring 40 runs.
