Blood tests being conducted to detect dengue fever

Following this, programmes are being carried out to eradicate dengue in all Grama Niladari Divisions.

Measures are taken to make arrangements to clean mosquito breeding areas. The people were made aware of dengue over the loudspeaker and leaflets were distributed among the public to control the spread of dengue.

Environmental pollution which helps spread dengue was identified and action was taken to clean the environment.

Residents who have mosquito breeding locations were identified and were warned to clean their premises. Uncleared garbage for a long time is another cause of the spread of dengue fever, Siddeeque said.

Residents were warned that legal action will be taken against offenders.

In areas where there were heavy rains and floods, drinking water had got polluted, he said.

The Medical Officer of Health, Akkraipattu Divisions took action to issue chlorine powder to be mixed with drinking water.
