Professionals need of the hour - Minister

Sri Lanka is on a fast track towards development. In this development process, it needs qualified professionals to make that process a success in an effective and efficient manner.

Creating professionals needed to suit the current job market is the most effective way to fulfill the country's development goals, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W D J Seneviratne said.

The minister was addressing the Ratnapura District National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certificate distributing ceremony in Ratnapura. One hundred and sixty students who successfully completed vocational training received certificates at the ceremony.

The certificate is granted under the guidance of the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

The training includes theory and practical. Students who follow these courses can become skillful professionals, Minister Seneviratne said.
