Join hands to defeat sinister forces - Asgiriya Mahanayake

Certain sinister forces are trying to put Sri Lanka into difficulty at the UNHRC sessions to regain their lost power. Everyone should join hands to defeat these attempts, said the Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter.

The Prelate said this when SLFP Deputy President Transport Minister Kumara Welgama called on him at the Asgiriya Viharaya, and received his blessings.

Most Ven. Buddharakkhita Mahanayake Thera said delegates of Western nations would never act against Sri Lanka at the UNHCR, if they visited the country to see for themselves the transformation after the end of the conflict.

Although India knew the true situation in Sri Lanka first hand, that country had to take certain unpalatable decisions due to the pressure exerted by South Indian politicians, he said.
