Gurukula claims third outright win

Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya beat President’s College, Kotte by 110 runs to register their third outright victory for the season in their inter-school under 19 cricket match played at Prisons grounds.

Resuming at 166 for 6 President’s College were all out for 179 runs and in their second essay Gurukula were all out for 160 runs with Jayamal Wanniarachchi scoring 71 runs and Sandeepa Wimalaweera and Mohomed Halan claimed 4 for 52 and 4 for 79 respectively. President’s in their second innings were all for a paltry 120 runs with Jayamal Wanniarachchi claiming 4 for 27 and a match bag of 8 for 51.

Gurukula – 248/8 and 160 (Jayamal Wanniarachchi 71, Kasun Madushanka 33, Sandeepa Wimalaweera 4/52, Mohomed Halan 4/79).

President’s College – 166/6 overnight all out 179 (Mohomed Halan 50, Ashen Liyanage 60, Viraj Hettiarachchi 23, Jayamal Wanniarachchi 4/24, Nalin Perera 3/23) and 120 (Kanishka Perera 29, Geshan Liyanage 24, Jayamal Wanniarachchi 4/27, Nalin Perera 3/54, Namal Pathum 2/11).
