Upananda Jayasundera - Kandy Sports Special Corr
The annual inter-house sportsmeet for the year 2013 of Hillwood
College, Kandy was held recently at Asgiriya International Stadium.
Kandy, under the patronage of Samantha Jayadewa, the 1st Hillwoodian to
represent Sri Lanka for sports in Asian Games.
She was the All Island Table Tennis champion in 1990 and the bronz
medallist at the South Asian Games held in 1991.
The championship was won by Ireland Jones House collecting 652 points
and the 2nd place by Bellerby House by 602 points, 3rd place by Naish
House collecting 556 points.
The following are the champions of each age group.
Under 12 – Hasini Herath – Bellerby House
Under 13 – Rukshini Janson – Ireland Jones House
Under 15 – Dilrukshi Perera – Naish House
Under 17 – Bhanuka Jayalath – Ireland Jones House Under 19 – Naduni
Jayaweera – Naish House
Over 19 – Hansani Sirinaga – Bellerby House

established 3 new records.
